Mechanic for Offshore Vessel

Job Description

Responsibilities:
Examines vehicle or equipment and determines nature and extent of damage or malfunction.
Plans work procedure using charts, technical manuals, and experience.
Determines what parts are necessary for repair and requisitions parts accordingly.
Has knowledge of electrical, fuel, hydraulic, pneumatic, brake, and other automotive systems necessary.
Lubricates moving parts and drives or tests vehicle to verify conformance to specifications.
Performs maintenance on all vehicles and motorized equipment in and around shipyard.
Changes oil, checks batteries, repairs tires and tubes, and lubricates equipment and machinery.
Performs other duties, including fabrication or repair of metal components, such as exhaust systems, chassis repair, and structural repair.
May fabricate lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields, or other such devices.
Examines protective guards, nuts and bolts, and specified safety devices and makes adjustments as required.
May remove, dismantle, and rebuild engine, transmission, clutch, rear end, and other components of drive trains.
Will be required to wear all of the necessary personal protective equipment, such as hard hats, eye and hearing protection, gloves, and dust and
