Assistant Engineer for Offshore Vessel (Louisiana, USA)

Job Description

An Assistant Engineer is responsible for performing general vessel engineer duties under supervision of the Chief Engineer.

Requirements:
- 3-5 years total Marine experience with at least one year experience as a Licensed Engineer (preferred)
- High School diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Experience in Marine Construction and Dredging (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of industry related software (preferred)
- Must be able to understand written and verbal safety commands in English
- Ability to work rotational 12-hour watch
- Ability to work 21 days on, 21 days off, revised as necessary

Certifications & Licenses:
- Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC)
- Licensed 3rd Assistant Engineer or higher
- Standards of Training, Certifications and Watchkeeping (STCW)
- STCW Medical
- Able Seafarer – Engine
- VPDSD
- RFPEW
- Advanced Firefighting
- PSC – Proficiency in Survival Craft including rescue boats, not fast rescue boats
- Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
- CPR/AED First Aid Certification
- Driver’s license
