Job Description
The Chief Officer is responsible to the Vessel Master and may act as their deputy on board. They have the responsibility to manage the deck department and carry out Watch Duties; acting as Senior Officer of the Watch, Senior DP Operator and Duty Officer when in Port.
Requirements:
STCW 95 (A-II/2) Certificate of Competency (Chief Officer Unlimited) meeting legislative requirements of the Flag State
Must have at least 2 years of relevant working experience as Chief Mate on DP Vessels
Must have extensive experience working on a pipelay vessel
Experience on any similar types and size of vessel. For Example: Rigid Pipelay/ Heavy lift, Diving , Renewables & Heavy lifting , Construction / Vertical Flex-lay and Construction/ Horizontal Flex-lay .
Experience of more than 3 years as independent watch keeping officer including 1 year as 2nd Officer.
Recognised Seaman's Discharge Book
Recognised DP Operator's Certificate and experience in accordance with IMCA M117
Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing in accordance with STCW Code Table A-II/I
New recruits to the Company should have a minimum of “1” year’s rank experience.
Fully conversant with Flag State Maritime Law / Legislation
Fully conversant with ship's Safety Management System (Ref: ISM Code)
Completed Ship Security Officer Course relevant for the position (Ref: ISPS Code)
Hold at all times a valid Seafarers Medical fitness certificate and offshore survival certification suitable for geographical area of work
