Cadets for Dredging & Offshore Vessels (Netherlands)

Job Description

As a cadet on board of our vessels, you will be part of the team which is responsible for operating and maintaining our vessels. Boskalis’ fleet consists of more than 650 vessels and is the company’s capital. The trailing suction hopper dredger ‘Prins der Nederlanden’, the cutter suction dredger ‘Helios’ and the rock dumping fall pipe vessel ‘Rockpiper’ are just a few examples of the vessels we use on our Dredging projects.

Next to that we have the crane vessels Bokalift 1 & 2, construction support vessels Boka Tiamat & Boka Southern Ocean, cable laying vessel Ndurance as examples on the vessels we use on our Offshore projects.

Your responsibilities as an intern, working on one of our Dredging vessels:
Participate in the "wachtsysteem" of our vessels. E.g., ship maintenance, nautical activities.
Putting your theoretical knowledge into practice and proactively share ideas.
Conduct the ("graduation") tasks from your ''takenboek/taskbook".

You can make your mark as a Fleet Intern if you are/have:
A mbo/hbo student in Maritiem Officier, Scheepswerktuigkunde, Stuurman, Waterbouw
18 year or older (due to international legislation)
An interest in Dredging or Offshore Energy
Enrolled in a Dutch/Belgium educational program, throughout the duration of your internship
Hands-on and open to other cultures
A professional attitude and team player spirit
Good understanding of the English language, both written and spoken.
