Operations Technician for Offshore Oil & Gas Project (Canada)

Job Description

Position is located offshore Newfoundland and Labrador. This position will require you to travel offshore via helicopter or supply vessel.

Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
10+ years experience as an Operator in a Hydrocarbon producing / Processing facility
Inter-Provincial Journeypersons Certificate or technologist qualification. Any equivalent combination of experience and / or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved may also be considered
Broad working knowledge of well equipment, separation, gas compression, power generation and utility systems
Working knowledge of the Distributed Control System (DCS), Emergency Control System (ECS), and Fire & Gas System (FGS) would be considered a strong asset
Familiarity in using Windows-based applications, as well as Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (e.g. SAP)
Working knowledge of safety practices common to the oil and gas industry

While it is preferred that candidates already have the below certifications, some training may be provided
Basic Survival Training (BST) including HUET and HUEBA
Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) Alive
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS 2015)
Offshore Safety Regulatory Awareness
Fall Protection
Confined Space Entry
Emergency First Aid
