Drilling Superintendent for Oil&Gas Project (UK)

Job Description

NES Fircroft are currently looking to recruit an onshore Drilling Superintendent to be based in Dorset.

This is a contract role with a duration between 6 to 9 months initially.

Key deliverables/outcomes:
Responsible for the control and direction of drilling and testing operations
Preparations for mobilization of the rig and all required third party equipment and load outs.
Working with engineering, operations geology, logistics and finance personnel to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
Providing input, reviewing and accepting the drilling /testing/ abandonment programs
Interfacing with the drilling contractors and service companies to ensure HSE and operational performance are meeting agreed standards.
Lead or take part in operations risk assessments.
Taking part in regular operational and HSE audits of the drilling rig and supply bases.
Conduct morning calls and review morning reports from the drilling rigs with the Drilling Supervisor at the rig site and the Drilling Engineer.
Ensure the operations are conducted in the best interest of the Company.
Discusses future operations plans with the Drilling Supervisor and the Drilling Engineer in an effort to optimise and eliminate problems.
Provide technical trouble shooting when problems occur on the drilling rig.
Review equipment planning with Drilling Engineer, Drilling Supervisors and the Material & Logistics Coordinator to ensure timely equipment arrivals and to eliminate equipment overstocking.
Coordinate with the Drilling Engineer, Material & Logistics Coordinator & Drilling supervisors the timely arrival of drilling equipment and services on wellsite.
Ensure that wells are drilled and completed in a manner that meets the objectives of the Reservoir, Production, and Geological departments.
