Subsea 7 US in Houston requires a Logistics & Materials Coordinator.
The Logistics & Materials Coordinator will work within the Logistics Team reporting through the Supply Chain Management function.
The Logistics & Materials Coordinator shall support country entry strategies and current country of operation with formal, detailed and robust logistics plans. This will include customs compliance, optimizing import/export mechanisms, shipping guidelines, vessel logistics procedures and liaising closely with in-country service providers
This will include ensuring high quality communication with all internal and external parties and a flexible, high quality and timely service to the Projects and other internal clients is critical, particularly as business priorities can change at short notice. The success of this role depends on good communication with offshore and onshore project teams and the dissemination of useful information.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage import and export of equipment from global locations to work sites in Gulf of Mexico.
Working within the Project with daily interface with other project functions including SCM, Operations, Engineering, In Country Project teams, logistics Subcontractors and vessel owners
Coordinate each shipping, including paperwork, customs and duties and track materials.
Charter vessels (OSV, LCV, AHT), manage BIMCO contracts, and coordinate with all stakeholders regarding operational and compliance aspect (i.e Jones Act, U.S. regulations, FTZ). Clear all cargo and vessels
Develop and implement Logistics Plans and associated Procedures as required on Projects
Support tenders and Projects with logistics budget, continues improvement by analyzing and providing the most efficient solution.
Prepare vessel importation 60 days prior arrival in the region
Support offshore Resources (OR) during dry-dock or maintenance. Support vessel mobilization & demobilization of material and equipment from / to the Project worksites.
Attend vessels daily call during operations.
Ensure process complies with Subsea 7 Business Management Systems and with Customs Regulations in all countries of operation.
Manage and develop strategic relationships with International Freight and Shipping agents, Vessel Owners, Terminal/Dock Operators, Trucking Companies, Helicopter Service Providers to ensure effective and cost-efficient service.
Manage all SCM activities related to logistics including Purchase Requests, Purchase Orders (SAP); archiving in SharePoint (TRF, Port Call, Charter), supplier management system, Supplier assessment, health and safety Synergi Cases. (see below) (see below)
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:
General Education:
Desirable: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Administration/Supply Chain/Logistics education.
SKILLS:
Technical (including IT):
Essential: A detailed understanding and comprehensive knowledge of Inventory management systems and general supply chain and logistics practices.
Interpersonal:
Essential: The candidate will be required to interact with people at various levels within the organization both regionally and globally, and externally with client representatives, suppliers and regulatory authorities so must possess strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
Self-Management:
Essential: Self-motivated individual who has the adaptability to work effectively as part of a team and as an individual. The candidate must be able to take decision and work under a minimal supervision
Multi-task:
Essential: Organizational skills and ability to coordinate different projects at the same time and deadlines. The candidate must be able to work under pressure, processing fast track request and able to prioritize.
Tendering:
Essential: Transportation market knowledge to provide solutions and estimate project logistics costs.
Accountability:
Essential: Cost driven and budget ownership are essential to keep projects costs on track.
Analytical:
Essential: Analytical and quantitative skills are desired. Ability to understand & react with diverse groups & operations. Problem solving skills are essential.
Flexibility:
Essential: Willingness to travel frequently and work during out of office hours. The position requires a person with a flexible attitude towards working in remote areas.
EXPERIENCE
Experience:
Candidate must have about 3 years of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry and over 5 years on Supply Chain/Logistics, coordinating operation and Logistics subcontractors for domestic and international movement of commercial freight by air, sea and road within an International Oil Services Company. Candidate must have experience on Vessel Port Calls, Loadouts, Import / Export Compliance, Tracking Items and Chartering.
Knowledge:
Experience operating at a similar level within a coordination role is required. Sourcing, supply chain and negotiation skills are mandatory. A detailed knowledge of global Customs and Excise regulations. Knowledge of Jones Act and Vessel Import & Export Norms.
