Senior Mechanical Engineer for Oil & Gas Project (Canada)

Job Description

Wood is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our busy and growing Oil & Gas Canada team in Sarnia, ON.

Skills / Qualifications:
Must be registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in PEO
10 to 15 years of relevant EPC experience working on Oil and Gas projects.
Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering
Canadian experience in conceptual, front-end, and detailed engineering on various mid to large capital projects in oil & gas, Oilsands including Refinery, Upgrader, SAGD, and Petro-Chemicals
In-depth knowledge of industry codes: ASME, API and Canadian Codes
Hands-on field/site experience in operations, mechanical equipment maintenance, inspections and workshop repairs and turnarounds will be considered an asset
Knowledge and proven application in all aspects of Materials, Welding and NDE will be considered an asset
Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks.
Strong technical writing skills; experienced in the preparation of correspondence and technical reports.
Effective verbal communicator, including presentation, facilitation and listening skills.
Ability to work both independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
Willing to travel and accept field assignments.
Motivated by working with people, through internal collaboration or with external clients.
Loves to share knowledge, experiences, and expertise with others to assist, mentor and coach less experience members of the team in their development.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, or similar, software would be considered an asset.
Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel)
Must be legally able to work in Canada at the time of application
