Senior Drilling Engineer for Oil&Gas Project (Calgary, Canada)

Job Description

The role of the Senior Drilling Engineer is to plan and engineer unconventional drilling projects including permitting and undertaking regulatory reporting, procurement of goods and services, casing design and drilling program preparation, scheduling, cost estimation & AFE preparation, liaising with project teams and providing operational support.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
Be a licensed Professional Engineer.
Well Control certified (IWCF Level 4 Supervisor onshore BOP certification preferred).
Minimum of 10 years Drilling Engineering experience with an E&P Operator, field experience will be considered an asset.
Operating experience in the Montney/Duvernay plays in a Drilling Engineering capacity would be considered an asset.
Familiarity with unconventional horizontal drilling, completions and fracturing operations and multi-well pad operations is required.

Competencies and Abilities:
MS Office proficiency, Spotfire, PowerBI, Primavera, OpenWells, Landmark EDM (CasingSeat, StressCheck, WellPlan), SAP experience preferred.
Strong technical understanding of unconventional well design and drilling operations.
Skilled at working in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment with many stakeholders including Drilling Engineering, Drilling Operations, Completions Engineering, Completions Operations, Asset/Project Teams, Subsurface and others.
