Job Description

Title: Electrical Engineer - FED
Reports to: Electrical Manager – Front End Delivery (FED)
Work Location: East Coast or Houston Background:
NES's client is an offshore wind developer on the East coast looking to hire an Electrical Engineer - Front End Delivery.

Scope of Job:
The Electrical Engineer will support the development and construction of offshore wind projects, focusing on performing and reviewing electrical designs for offshore wind projects.

Responsibilities:
50% - Provide technical support for the electrical design of offshore wind, including the inter-array cabling, export cabling, onshore cable landing and offshore substation. Review the geoscience and geotechnical reports necessary for the design of the cable system.
30% - Develop software tools to support the design of renewables projects (offshore and onshore).
10% - Participate in project team meetings, due diligence review and cross discipline cooperation.
5% - Stay on the cutting edge of technology and to develop and maintain relationships with offshore electrical potential service providers who can support the projects.
5% - Other duties as assigned.

Supervision of Others:
No direct report.

Qualifications:
2 years of relevant work experience
Requires a BSc EE degree or equivalent experience
Recommended skills within electrical design, power system analysis and offshore electrical design, HVAC and HVDC systems, power cables
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Good analytical skills
Creative and innovative
Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to business and technical personnel
Demonstrated consistently high levels of performance in all areas of responsibility
Highly motivated self-starter, friendly personality, good team player, and can deliver result independently regards to technical troubleshooting
Working Conditions:
85% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment. 15% of time is spent outside of the office visiting subcontractors and project stakeholders. At least monthly travel to project site(s) is required.
