Job Summary

The Chief Engineer provides power and services to the vessel and is responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance, including its equipment and furnishings. Ensures equipment is maintained and serviced to achieve the optimum economic life-cycle and predictable reliability within its life-cycle. The Chief Engineer safely and efficiently supports drilling and vessel operations.


Qualifications / Experience

Chief engineers (1st class) license, without limitations of horsepower, or geographical area.
Ten years of offshore experience in the Maintenance department offshore, with increasing responsibilities.
Possesses good conflict resolution skills, interpersonal skills, communication skills, excellent team work and organizational skills and diplomatically handles confrontation.
Familiar and experienced with computer based maintenance programs for offshore drilling units.
Extensive training and experience with electrical and hydraulic systems on, or equivalent with offshore floating deepwater 5th or 6th generation rigs.
Completion of all mandatory training and certification requirements for as described in the offshore Training matrix.
