2nd Assistant Engineer for Offshore Drilling Project (GoM, USA)

Job Description

The job responsibilities of a 2nd Assistant Engineer may include:
Assisting the 1st Assistant Engineer in overseeing the operation, maintenance, and repair of the vessel's engines, boilers, pumps, and other mechanical systems.
Monitoring the vessel's fuel and water levels and assisting in the maintenance of the vessel's environmental control systems.
Assisting in the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs to ensure the continued reliability and efficiency of the vessel's mechanical systems.
Ensuring compliance with all relevant national and international laws and regulations related to the operation and maintenance of the vessel's mechanical systems.
Maintaining accurate records of the vessel's engineering activities, including logs of maintenance and repair work and fuel consumption.
Assisting in managing the budget for the vessel's engineering department, including purchasing and inventory control.
Participating in emergency response drills and exercises, and providing leadership during emergency situations.
Coordinating with other shipboard departments, such as the Deck Department, to ensure that the vessel is operated safely and efficiently.
Assisting in the installation and commissioning of new mechanical equipment, as needed.

Job requirements:
Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch (STCW III/1 OOW Unlimited)
Advanced Fire Fighting (STCW A-VI/3)
USCG Merchant Mariners Credential (MMC)
Transport Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
USCG Merchant Mariner Medical (STCW A-II/4-1)
Basic Safety Training (STCW A-VI)
Vessel Personnel w/ Designated Security Duties (VPDSD)
Water Survival/T- HUET
Safegulf
Rigger Safety (4 hour)
U.S. Citizen
